About Us

Our Mission

Our Thad

Thaddeus Lake loved and lived music. Only a few weeks before his tragic death, at just 22, Thad had shared with his mother his goal to start a foundation to help kids gain access to music experiences. While he was taken from this world too soon, Thad’s legacy of music lives on in the Thaddeus Music Foundation.

Thanks to the support of the community the Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation has been able to help children and youth gain access to music education and opportunities. We have been registered as a nonprofit organization under the Alberta Society Act since July 2017 (Alberta Incorporation Number 5020548151).

How We Help

Subsidize Funds For Music Education

The Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation has helped to cover fees for  music lesson fees and/or related fees like music books, and exam/competition for many children and youth in the Leduc area. Learning music has many benefits including creating confidence-building skills that will last throughout a child’s life.

Coordinate Music Lessons at the Leduc Boys & Girls Club.

We provide cost share sharing lessons for keyboard, guitar, and drums at the Leduc Boys & Girls Club.

Present The Thaddeus Lake Showmanship Award at the Leduc Music Festival

Every year we give three young pianists ($100 in junior, $150 in intermediate, and $200 in senior piano) the Thaddeus Lake Showmanpship Award.

Operate Thad’s Musical Instrument Lending Library

In August 2023 we opened Thad’s Musical Instrument Lending Library (Thad’s M.I.L.L) open for all residents of Leduc County.
